Lambs Are Really Sweethearts
This may be the world’s first sing-a-long blog ever.
I’m posting a sneak preview of my song: “Lambs Are Really Sweethearts” in tribute to the Sheep Shearing festival at Gore Place.
On Saturday, Daena and I went to this fun, educational and craft friendly event. It was a beautiful day and a delightful time.
There were sheep, goats and llamas. There was food (well, sort of food: popcorn, icecream, kielbaski and fried dough).
There were historic re-enactors from the American Revolution.

(Don’t you just love the truck!)
And of course, the pièce de résistance!!! YARN!!
Crafts! Pretty things to buy.

Here is some yarn in prison.
I must free it.
In the craft area, I got to meet the lovely Ellen from Ellie’s Reclaimed Cashmere and her equally lovely husband.
Here I am in the fiber tent - a very happy camper. Don’t you love the hat? I got it in New Mexico.
Below is my friend and knitting guru Lucy Lee from my favorite LYS -Mind’s Eye Yarns. Some lucky ladies are going to get some of her amazing hand-dyed sock yarn.
I loved working with her yarn so much that I bought enough for two more scarves. I’m psyched. Don’t you love the colors!!!
Btw, I finished two of those scarves I spoke about in the last entry. I’ll take a photo and show you soon. My lovely DFF ( Dress Form Friend) “Ethel” offered to model. Stay posted.
So to celebrate this magical day at Gore Place, and my never ending love affair with Sheep and Wool, I offer this song to you! ( I will be putting it on my new CD “ Singing With Every Fiber!” )
Feel free to sing along!
LAMBS ARE REALLY SWEETHEARTS (lyrics: Wren Ross)
Lambs are really sweet hearts I’m in love with Ewes.
Shear them, spin their fleece and you’ll adore them too.
Their yarn’s so soft and cuddly and such a pretty hue
Wool’s a lovely fiber, I’m in love with ewes!
Special thanks to John Curtis for his fabulous accompaniment and to Daena Giardella and John for their sweet harmonies. Appreciation to Tom Eaton from Thomas Eaton Recording studio for doing a great job of engineering.
Thanks to Daena for all the cute photos!! You rock!
